Registration 2023

As the registration deadline has now passed it is vital that outstanding membership fees are paid this week for all players from Senior to U5 level.
Failure to have a valid membership for 2023 may preclude players of all ages from taking part in games and/or training sessions and/or use of club facilities.
Membership is also due for club officials and coaches of any age group.

In order to qualify for cover by the GAA or LGFA Injury Benefit Fund a player must have a fully paid playing membership on Foireann prior to the injury occurring. The respective Injury Benefit Funds are self-funded entirely from the GAA and LGFA funds with no outside involvement. The Injury Funds are not an insurance scheme. The Injury Funds are set up to assist members with some reimbursement for medical expenses incurred due to an injury sustained playing Gaelic football.

The respective Injury Benefit Funds do not seek to compensate fully for injuries sustained but to supplement other Schemes such as Personal Accident or Health Insurance. The GAA and LGFA Schemes only provide cover for unrecoverable losses up to the limits specified under the respective Schemes. More details can be viewed on https://learning.gaa.ie/InjuryFund or https://ladiesgaelic.ie/resources/injury-fund/

any player, parent or coach having difficulty completing the membership process is asked to contact the Club Registrar Fiacc Murphy on 087 6437848

Foireann Mobile App

A Foireann mobile app is now available, and this is the only official membership and communications app for GAA, LGFA and Camogie clubs. The app is available for both iOS (via the Apple Store) and Android devices (via Google Play). The Foireann Mobile app makes it even easier to manage your Foireann profile and all the ways you interact with the Club. We ask all members to download the app as it will make it easier to manage membership, update contact details and keep up to date with team activities.

The Foireann membership and communications app is fully integrated with the Foireann membership system – members can log in on the app with their existing Foireann account to see upcoming events which includes event details for anyone in your Family. The app also puts news, fixtures, and results in your pocket so you can stay up to date with the most important and relevant information.

Foireann is the GAA system used by clubs to manage membership and it allows members to register for membership and pay online using the Mobile app or theFoireann system at www.foireann.ie

U5

Very well done to all our boys & girls who joined in our under 5 session on the Astroturf on what turned out to be a dry Sunday Morning.

They worked on fun evasion games, team work, kicking skills & obstacle courses. The slightly older kids enjoyed some introduction to small sided match play. Well done to you all, no pressure but all fun, join in as you wish or watch to get the hang of the game! Keep up the skills of kicking catching & throwing at home.

Our players of the week today went to Tom Cournane for great participation in all the games & listening throughout. Our girl’s player of the week went to Danielle for her second session & joining in with a big smile.

Great effort, well done all see you next week.

Gooo St Pats!!!!!

U7

Another energetic training session last Sunday Morning for the boys. Well done to our under 7 player of the week Bobby Dennehy.

U8 Girls

Well done to our U8 girls on a fast, fun session on Sunday last, and to our newly joined Gaelic4Girls players who really added to the team. Congratulations to Faye Fitzmaurice our Player of the week, for her enthusiasm and team work keep up the practise during the week well done girls.

U9

Well done to all our U9 boys for a great training session this week. We worked on movement and ball skills and in particular our pick up and hand passing. A special well done to Michael who was this week’s player of the week.

U10 Girls

Our numbers were down today due to some of the girls having communion celebrations but it didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the other girls. They demonstrated great skill at kicking points and goals and played a very competitive game. Our player of the week worked very hard and tackled with great heart and intensity.

U11

St. Pats under 11’s had no game last week but were training Sunday. Everyone put in a great effort especially Paddy, Jake, Dylan and Oscar. It’s important that all our player’s turn up to training and keep practicing their skills at home during the week. We’ll be in contact if there’s a game this Thursday. Training again is next Sunday 14th from 12pm- 1pm on the pitch. Naomh Pádraig Abú!!

U12 Girls

Our U12’s had no game last week due to poor weather conditions. Next game Thursday at home to Abbeydorney at 7.30pm.

U13

Our U13’s had two weekends off in a row with the bank holiday weekend and last weekend. However training continued on Tuesday and Thursday evenings with good numbers in attendance. The second phase of the U13 County League is due to commence this coming Sunday evening but no fixtures were published at the time of the notes going to print. Updated fixtures will be published in next week’s notes. Training continues this week on Tuesday and Thursday evening.

U14 Girls

The annual community games took place on Sunday last in Cordal .The Blennerville area has a great tradition with community games football with two silver all Ireland medals in the club from previous years at Mosney.

This year the area widened which was a great addition to the team .Our First game was against a very strong Beaufort team but it didn’t take long for Blennerville to get going .A spate of quick goals from Amy Turner and Lily Breen got the ball rolling .

Our goalie Eve O’ Sullivan who was definitely the Goalie of the tournament bought off some great saves in the second half and along with a strong defence of Olivia Crean, Emily Corridon, Sarah Greaney, Alannah o Mahoney, Meaghan Barrero and Chloe Passway who defended to the very end got us over the line for a win.

Our midfield pairing of Amy Naughton and Lily Breen ran themselves in to the ground and both really stepped up when needed especially in the last game against Moyvane, which was extremely physical.

Our forwards over the four games played very well and for a forward line that have just been training for the last few weeks really gelled well together.

Amy Turner, Emma Okenwevere, Niamh Murphy, Roisin Sheehy, Kayla Reidy, Lily Hussey and Ashling O Mahoney all did very well and scored some great scores from play and Amy even scored a point from the 45m line .

The work rate of all the team was amazing to watch and considering they have never played together they did really well up against very strong teams who are playing together a lot .

The future of ladies football is in great hands with the players we had on the team today, they showed great heart and determination in all their games and did the community proud . Well done girls and we hope to see most of you again next year.

U15

Well done to our u15 team who competed in Feile on Friday evening in Blennerville.

After a titanic battle we came up just short against a strong Ardfert team who went on to reach the county final on Saturday. We had another great game against Northern Gaels and lost by a point.

This is a big week for our team as we play Tarbert away in the semi-final of the county league on Wednesday at 7pm. This was as a result of our best performance of the year, where we had a 3-7 to 0-5 win over Dromid/Waterville last week.

U17

Our U17’s St Pats/Kerins O Rahilly’s played away on bank holiday Monday, they had another great win. Well done to all involved.

Their third game is home to St Mary’s/ Renard in Blennerville at 7pm on Monday 8thof May.

Seniors

Our seniors play in their Round 6 in Credit Union County League on Sunday 14th of May, they play at home against Beale at 2pm.

Please keep an eye for any changes in O Shea’s Gala, Byrnesworth and St Pats Old Clubhouse.

Senior B’s

Our senior B’s are playing their Round 3 of the Development League at home against Ballydonoghue B on last Saturday Evening. Ballydonoghue was first to opening the scoring with a quick goal, Breandan Savage got our first point of the game.

With a goal and four points scored by Ballydonoghue which was made difficult by us, Conor Enright added a point to our score. With another goal scored by Ballydonoghue, Adam Hegarty executed a beautiful goal to rock the back of the net in the dying minutes of the first half. Ballydonoghue added one final point before the first half ended. St Pats B 1-02 Ballydonoghue B 3-05

Ballydonoghue began the second half with a point, Adam Hegarty added another point to his scoring. Four points unanswered by Ballydonoghue but Breandan Savage and Cillian Lynch each added a point to St Pats scoreboard. Ballydonoghue got another point with Breandan Savage adding the last score for St Pats With this half Ballydonoghue got a goal and a point with the final whistle blowing. St Pats B 1-06 Ballydonoghue B 4-12
