Juvenile Academy

U5

A smaller group trained in holiday season! We had a great coach to player ratio thanks to our older mentor players on Sunday! Lots of skills including the tackle were demonstrated and practiced. Today all the boys and girls wanted to play a match, so we had fun practicing our passing and teamwork.

Our visiting mentor player helped pick the boys and girls player of the week. well done to Harry and Suin for their enthusiasm throughout the session, they earned the trophies this week. Throughout the summer even if you can’t make training every week keep up the kicking, catching, and throwing at home.

these skills and ABCs (Agility, Balance & Coordination) are the fundamental movements needed for healthy development of children and will stand to them for all sports in their future. See you next week! Go St Pats!

U7

Great fun at Sundays Academy, the boys started off with some regular training, followed by a friendly game of football against the girls, which they all thoroughly enjoyed. Player of the week was Paul Flynn.

U8 Girls

Well done to the U8 Girls who trained on Sunday Morning. Everyone is improving every week, Ava was chosen as player of the week, as she always shows great enthusiasm and is a super team player. Keep up the practice at home girls and see ye all again next Sunday.

U9

A fun morning for all our enthusiastic u9 boys on Sunday, the boys showed great effort in all their skill drills and had a very competitive game at the end. We finished up with a penalty shoot-out with our senior goalkeeper Paidi Bailey between the posts…. he didn’t save them all!

U10 Girls

We had a brilliant morning on Saturday last in a very well-organized blitz by our neighbors Kerins O Rahillys.

The old saying “it was a game of 2 halves” did not apply as the games were 10 mins in total with no half time so whichever team had the wind had a big advantage.

Our 1st game was versus Ballymac, and the girls were excellent with some great scores and some great passages of play.

Our 2nd game was versus Listowel who were very strong, and they had the wind.

But our girls were up to the challenge. They showed great tenacity and their intensity in the tackle was a joy to behold and reminded me of both the Kerry ladies/men’s performance last weekend such was their commitment.

Our last game was against a very strong Abbeydorney team, and we can be very proud of ourselves. We had a well-deserved medal presentation, and the girls were delighted.

Thanks to Trevor and Paul and all the parents for helping out.

U11

St Pats U-11’s were back training last Sunday in preparation for the upcoming central league. Noah, Cillian,

Lukie, Oscar, and Darragh M all put in a great effort. It’s important all our players continue to attend our training sessions and also, they keep practicing the skills at home during the week. Reminder also that our Kellogg’s Cúl camp begins this week. The training schedule for the week and if we receive any match fixtures we will circulate to the parents. Naomh Pádraig Abú!!

U12 Girls

On Tuesday evening last the U12 Girls played their 2nd game in the County League at home against Ballyduff B. We were short players on the evening, and we had a few injuries during the game, but the girls battled on and still managed to leave with a victory.

Each player played their best at all times throughout the game, and it was fantastic to see such an improvement in our newer and younger players. Training continued Sunday Morning. Our next game is fixed for Tuesday 11th at home against Castlegregory at 7pm.

U13

We opened our Central League account with a home defeat to an amalgamated side of Renard/St Mary’s/Valentia last Sunday evening in Blennerville. Missing a few regulars due to holidays and other reasons, our young team played so great stuff at times.

Our opponents punished us with goals at crucial times after we turned over the ball in the opposition half. However, to our lad’s credit, they never gave up and we kicked some fine scores towards the end of the game to finish on a positive note.

Thanks to the U11 players of Jace, Rylan, James, and Noah for playing up. On a side note, the appointed referee never showed up to officiate which was disappointing, but a member of the opposition back-room team took the whistle and did a good job. Our next game is at home to Castlegregory.

Details of this fixture to be confirmed on the team WhatsApp group later in the week. Team vs Renard/St Mary’s/Valentia: Gearóid Hingston, Paddy Flynn, Hugh Costello (C), Aidan Berry, Jace Flynn, Luke O’Sullivan, Stephen Enright, Callum Rice, Charlie Sharp, Tommy Costello, Noah Flynn, Thomas Colivet, Rylan Flynn, and James O’Riordan.

U14 Girls

On a wet Thursday evening last our U14’s braved the elements and played the 3rd game of the County League away to Austin Stacks B Team in Connolly Park.

It was an exciting game with great scores from both sides. Our Girls however pulled out all they had on this occasion and were absolutely delighted to have another victory under their belts for the trip home over the bridge! Such brave girls to go out and play a Great game in desperate weather conditions. Training continued on Sunday Morning in St. Pats. Next game in the League to be confirmed for later in July.

Seniors

Last Sunday our seniors travelled to Keel for our final game of the county league, Keel got the first three points of the game with a point from David O Callaghan. Another two points from opposition and another point from David O Callaghan.

With another point from Keel and three points this time one each from Kieran Hurley, Fergal O Brien, and Eoin Greaney. Two final points from Keel for this half. St Pats 0-05 Keel 0-08

Three points again from Keel, Brendan Poff replied with a point and Keel added another point soon after.

A reply in the form of a point from Fergal O Brien, Keel quickly added another point which was to be their last score for a while, from then on St Pats dominated with Fergal O Brien stepping up to add two points, David O Callaghan and Gary Savage got a point each.

Fergal O Brien got a power shot of a goal, within a few seconds Fergal O Brien with the ball in hand headed up the field with a pass to David O Callaghan and another quick hand pass to Eoin Greaney the back of the net was found.

Two more points were added by Fergal O Brien and Keel added a final point and Fergal O Brien put the last score on the board for the match with a goal. St Pats 3-13 Keel 0-14

Due to Senior Hurling Championship Quarter Final fixtures taking place there is one more game to be played in the County League, once this fixture has been played, we will know who is relegated.

Team: Paudi Bailey, Luke Mulligan, Niall McCarthy, Conor Moore, Tommy Lynch, Cillian O Riordan, Brian Murphy, Liam Poff, Patrick Dowling, David O Callaghan, Brendan Poff, Gary Savage, Eoin Greaney, Kieran Hurley, and Fergal O Brien.

Senior B’s

Our senior B’s are playing in their Round 5 of the Development League against Cordal, this is a refixed fixture which will take place on Friday 14th of July at 8pm in Blennerville.

The club would like to extend its sympathy to the families and friends of Gerard Fenix Ballinorig and Alex O Donnell Camp.
