Healthy Club and Community Fun Day

Our Community Fun day took place on Sunday afternoon last, in the glorious sunshine! The obstacle course was set up and ready to go by the volunteers and was the main attraction of the day for the juveniles. The kids were divided into different age groups and split into groups of four, with the winners of each group taking part in a final heat!

The overall winner of each heat got a well-deserved medal and new football for their efforts. When all the Juveniles were finished their races, it was time for the coaches and parents to have a go, providing great entertainment for the spectators!

This was followed by the slow bicycle race which again was great fun with plenty of positive competition between those taking part.

Other activities included face painting, throwing wet sponges at the coaches and other fun games for all the family to enjoy.

Our Healthy Club Committee Members were on hand to provide healthy food options to the crowd with wraps, sandwiches, fruit and snacks all available, thanks to everyone who brought some tasty food along on the day. A big thanks to all the volunteers, parents, guardians, and participants who made this day a memorable one for everyone!

Juvenile Academy

U9

Our U9’s had a well-earned break from training this morning and instead joined in all the fun at our Family Fun Day. They even managed to show great accuracy in hitting their coaches with wet sponges. Also well done to those who participated in the Monster blitz in Moyvane.

U10 Boys

St Pats u 10’s were in early action last Sunday morning when they participated in the u10’s North Kerry West Limerick & West Clare Monster Go Games Blitz’s 2023 in Moyvane G.A.A. Grounds.

We played 3 great Go Games against Lisdoonvarna, Clondegad and St Joseph’s Miltown. Well done to our young St Pats stars who represented our club with distinction on the day Cian, Fionn, Cillian, Paddy, Darragh S, Jack, Noah, Eoin, Luke, Ben, Nicholas, Rian, Darragh R, Aaron, Tommy. Thanks to John Dillon for coordinating this well run event.

U10 Girls

Our U10 girls played in a very well-organized blitz in Ballymac early on Saturday morning.

In blazing sunshine our 9 super girls acquitted themselves admirably. We played Firies in our 1st game and both teams were evenly matched. Lily Ann in goals pulled off some breath-taking saves, Rosa, Lexi, and Cara were very tight in defense and tenacious in the tackle.

Mary-Kate and Emma formed a great partnership midfield and shared the defensive & attacking roles equally and admirably. Upfront Sadie, Amelia and Rosie worked hard and showed a great eye for a score.

We played Ballymac in our 2nd game and had a ding doing battle with them.

In our last game we played a very strong Kerins O Rahillys team, and we gave as good as we got. Finally, well done to our girls ye were brilliant and to our wonderful hosts Ballymac for the home cooking and savory treats which were very welcome before our last match and gave us a much-needed energy boost.

Also, the girls got their pictures taken with the Victorious All Ireland winning Kerry Ladies minor team and they refereed all the games.

Special mention goes to our own Keelin Enright who was very kind and gracious with her time and what a role model our girls have in Keelin to aspire to.

U11

St Pats U-11’s hosted St Senan’s last Thursday in two brilliant high tempo games. Well done to all our players who took part. Coaches were delighted with the effort and great displays of skills shown by our players. West Kerry District are going to arrange another set of Go Games to close out the season. The details of these matches will be circulated to parents shortly. Naomh Pádraig Abú!!
