Juvenile Academy

U5

Great work by the under 5s last Sunday and great to have more new faces joining us! We had good numbers for a 5 v’s 5 senior match and the junior end giving it a go too! Well done to Carly Anne for great running and enthusiasm!

Apologies, we just had 1 trophy this week. Keep up all those fundamental skills of running, jumping, catching, and kicking. don’t forget to kick from your hands while walking/ running. See you next week!

U7

Well done to Sean O’Sullivan who was the deserving winner of our player of the week, great effort by all the boys again at Academy on Sunday!

U8 Girls

Thanks to all our U8 girls for a huge effort on Sunday Morning last against John Mitchell’s, great to see our younger girls getting stuck in while the older U8 were away, their confidence and bravery is growing every game and we hope they enjoyed the challenge!

The 2023 season will end Sunday 15th October so before then we’re planning a merged girls U8/U10 parish league with 4-teams playing off for some friendly rivalry! Something to look forward to, details to follow.

U9

Our U9’s had an action-packed week, we welcomed Glenbeigh/Glencar to Blennerville on Tuesday evening playing 2 fantastic games and on Sunday morning we travelled back to Castlegregory where we played 3 great games against our hosts. Well done to all our boys and girls after a busy week!

U10 Girls

We welcomed John Mitchels to Blennerville on Sunday morning last, a foggy morning which was brightened up by the skill and dedication that both teams displayed.

We played 2 games which were very competitive and physical, but our girls did not shy from the challenge and displayed great resilience and as always showed great ferocity in the tackle.

With each game we are improving and the difference in our skill levels from the 1st session in the MTU all those months ago is immeasurable.

Well done girls, we as coaches are very proud of each and every one of you.

U11

St Pats U-11’s were at home v Castlegregory last Thursday evening. All our players performed brilliantly. We had two good games in difficult weather conditions. There was great defending, tackling, and scoring on display.

The work rate was much improved also. We are away to Annascaul next Thursday evening in the next round of the West Kerry District games so let’s try to keep up the good numbers for the remainder of the season. The details of this match will be circulated to parents shortly. Naomh Pádraig Abú!!

U13 Girls

The U13 Girls made the long journey to the picturesque village of Glenflesk on Sunday afternoon last. The girls were competing in their first game in the u13 championship, unfortunately It was a knockout competition, so a win was needed on the day to progress.

As always, a great performance from our girls who were unfortunate not to come away with a win on the day.

It was a very tight game right to the final whistle. The girls should all be very proud of themselves for a mighty performance.

A Stop off in Supermac’s in Killarney on the way home helped shake off the disappointment! We will have a light training session on Monday evening at 5.30. See you all there.

Minors

Our Minors St Pats/Kerins O Rahillys played in the Semi Final of the Keane’s Supervalu County Minor Club Football Championship “D” Group against Moyvane, with great scoring from both sides Moyvane proved the stronger opponents and came away with the win.

St Brendan’s Board

St Brendan’s Board played last Friday night 15th in the Garvey’s Supervalu Senior Football County Championship against Na Gaeil; they proved too strong St Brendan’s Board. Round 2 for St Brendan’s Board is against Dingle and Round 3 is against Dr Crokes, Fixtures to be confirmed soon.

Senior B’s

This was a 13 a side game, Moyvane were first to score with a point in Round 1 of the Kerry Junior Cup at the weekend, Liam Poff quickly responded with his own point. With score back and forth between the teams with Moyvane getting another point and Adam Hegarty putting the ball over the bar for us.

The opposition again added another point, Conor Burke and Adam Hegarty worked well together to get the ball into Brian Murphy to score a point.

With two points coming from Moyvane next it was a pass from Adam Hegarty which was quickly passed to Conor Burke which allowed Martin Savage to receive the ball and landed it into the back of Moyvane net.

One more point from Adam Hegarty in the form of a 45, and two more point from Moyvane ended this half with St Pats 1-04 Moyvane 0-08

Moyvane came out in the second half and quickly put a point and a goal onto the scoreboard. The next three scores were by St Pats Brian Murphy was on hand to pass the ball to Adam Hegarty and onto to Conor Enright to score a goal.

With only a few minutes gone Brian Murphy added another goal in quick succession. Adam Hegarty received the ball in Moyvane’s goal area which was saved but a Moyvane player hoping to get the ball away from the goals ended up kicking it into the back of their own net to add to St Pats score.

Moyvane added one more point, with Cillian O Riordan putting another point for St Pats. The opposition added a point, a goal, and another point in quick succession to end the match with a win. St Pats 4-05 Moyvane 2-12.
