Registration 2024

Now that some of our teams have resumed training and others will be resuming shortly players and coaches, please register your membership of the Club for 2024. Membership is a vital part of ensuring the club’s continued success and development.

Whether you are a player, coach, supporter, parent of a player or member of the wider community we welcome you to register with St. Pat’s. We ask you this year to register through http://www.stpatsgaaclub.com or on Foireann www.foireann.ie which is available on Apple and Google Play to download.

One of the benefits of registering as a playing member of the GAA or LGFA via the Club is that in the event of an injury sustained playing or training resulting in medical expenses it may be possible to claim a level of refund from the GAA or LGFA Injury Benefit Fund. However, any player seeking to benefit from the Injury Benefit Fund must be a registered member of the GAA or LGFA on Foireann at the time of injury.

The respective Injury Benefit Funds are self-funded entirely from the GAA and LGFA funds with no outside involvement. The Injury Funds are not an insurance scheme. The Injury Funds are set up to assist members with some reimbursement for medical expenses incurred due to an injury sustained playing Gaelic football.

The respective Injury Benefit Funds do not seek to compensate fully for injuries sustained but to supplement other Schemes such as Personal Accident or Health Insurance.

The GAA and LGFA Schemes only provide cover for unrecoverable losses up to the limits specified under the respective Schemes. More details can be viewed on https://learning.gaa.ie/InjuryFund or https://ladiesgaelic.ie/resources/injury-fund/

Seniors

Our seniors Round 1 game against Ardfert in the Tralee/St Brendan’s Senior League didn’t get off to a great start with opposition coming away with the win. Ardfert got a goal and point within a few minutes of the beginning of the match. Two points we replied with it, one each from Patrick Dowling and Fergal O’Brien.

Four points from opposition allowed them to pull away before Fergal O’Brien sailed the ball over the bar to add another point. Another Ardfert four points pushed their position ahead with Fergal O’Brien again coming up to score another point, with a goal added by Ardfert, Eoin Greaney responded with his own point. Ardfert got the final point of the game before half time St Pats 0-05 Ardfert 2-10

Eoin Greaney was quick off the mark to put a point up on the board, Ardfert answered with two points one from a free given. Fergal O’Brien again made his mark on the board with a point. Another goal and point from opposition kept them in lead position.

Two points one each coming from Fergal O’Brien and Martin Savage to try to reduce the lead. Ardfert were determined to keep pressure on adding a point and goal which was their final scores of the game. Fergal O’Brien added the final point for us and the match to finish St Pats 0-10 Ardfert 4-14
