This was Tadhg’s second time, to participate in the Munster Championship and he thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

“I love playing chess,” he said. “I first started playing when I was 11 years of age and I fell in love with the game almost immediately. Last Sunday’s competition was tough as there were some exceptional players from all over Munster there and I’m delighted that I came out victorious”.

Tadhg, who practices chess for around four hours a week, will now go forward to the All-Ireland Chess Championships which takes place in Limerick in the New Year.
