Two Fenit Schoolchildren Receive Awards In Art Competition

Clodagh Hickey and Shona O’Connor of St Brendan’s NS Fenit who won prizes in the ‘Draw Your Life In Black And White’ art competition.

TWO children from St. Brendan’s National School, Fenit, have been awarded prizes for their entries into the ‘Draw Your Life In Black And White’ competition, which was run by Tama Farm Grown Solutions.

The school is currently on a hot streak with many of the children being recognised for their artistic talents. Another pupil of the school was awarded in the ‘Sightsavers Junior Painter of the Year Awards 2016’ earlier in the year.

The ‘Draw Your Life In Black And White competition’ had hundreds of entrants and the decision of picking the winners was a hard one for the judges.

Shona O’Connor came in third place in her age group and scooped a €100 Eason’s voucher and Clodagh Hickey was awarded a special commendation and received a €25 Easons voucher.

CHILDREN from all over town gathered in the Kerry Group Marquee on Friday morning for the presentation  of prizes in the Féile na mBláth art competition.

Hundreds of schoolchildren took part and Chairman of the Féile na mBláth Committee, Johnnie Wall, ably assisted by committee members, Caroline Toal and Mary Ann Keane who organised the competition, handed out the medals and trophies to delighted winners on the stage.
