THERE were Tralee winners announced at the Hi Style Awards 2022 last weekend in Cork.
Maureen McCarthy of Brush N Blush, based in Milk Market Lane, won Hi’s Most Stylish Wedding Supplier 2022 at the Cointreau sponsored awards on Saturday night at the Clayton Silver Springs Hotel.
Meanwhile, the Cosmetic and Hair Restoration Clinic at the Bon Secours Hospital in Tralee were also winners picking up the Hi’s Most Stylish Clinic 2022 and Seabody won the Hi’s Best in Wellness Business Product.
THERE were a number of local winners at the Tia Maria Hair & Beauty Awards 2022 held in Cork on Sunday night.
The gala event from HiStyle, MC’d by Paul Ryder and Deric Ó H’Artagáin, took place in Clayton Silversprings Hotel on Sunday, April 24. It honours the best in the hair, beauty and aesthetics industry of Ireland.
The Cosmetic and Hair Restoration Clinic at the Bon Secours Hospital won the Best Hair Restoration Clinic in Munster award.

THE Hi Magazine Awards 2018 were held in The Clayton Silver Springs Hotel, Cork on Saturday night and a local businesswoman came home with an award.
Maureen McCarthy, who runs Brush’n’Blush in Tralee with her mother Frances, won Hi’s ‘Most Stylish Newcomer to the Hair Industry 2018’ award.
The Fenit native was delighted and why shouldn’t she be, as the salon has gone from strength to strength over the past few years since it began first in Caheranne Village and then last year moved to Market Gate House on Milk Market Lane.

In October they expanded, opening Brush n Blush Beauty just a stone’s throw away on Market Place. Brush N Blush is no stranger to accolades winning at the Irish Wedding Awards and the Irish Hair and Beauty Awards over the past couple of years.
The Cointreau Hi Style Awards 2018 saw a capacity audience of 500 attend the glittering award ceremony and banquet hosted by the style channel Hi. TV’s Amanda Brunker and Deric Hartigan compered the event which is now in its 5th year honouring people in the beauty and fashion industry.
TOP fashion and lifestyle blogger, Erika Fox, was in town on Wednesday to open Brush N Blush’s new salon which has created three new jobs.
There was a big crowd of well-wishers at the event who enjoyed champagne and canapés to launch the second Blush N Brush from mother and daughter duo, Frances and Maureen McCarthy.
Glenbeigh native Erika Fox cut the tape to officially open the salon located at Market Gate House, just off Milk Market Lane on the site of the old Threshold charity shop.
The new venture is the second salon from the two ladies as the award-winning Brush N Blush continues to operate successfully from its Caheranne base for the past few years. Scroll down for photos…
TRALEE Hair and Beauty Salon, Brush’n’Blush, captured another award at the recent Beauty Industry Awards 2017 held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dublin on Sunday.
The family run business was given the prize of ‘First Class Hair Salon’ and follows on from last year’s success at the event.
The business, run by mother and daughter, Frances and Maureen McCarthy, now adds to last year’s Hair Salon of the Year – South West 2016 award and the Wedding Hair and Make-Up Salon of the Year- South West 2017 award.

Speaking after the event, Maureen McCarthy said; “We are delighted to be recognised for all the hard work and dedication we’ve put in. It’s such a big achievement for our salon to be in with such recognised names and to come out on top is amazing. All the work by our wonderful staff and the support of our clients is really starting to pay off and hopefully we can continue on into the future with more success.”
Brush’n’Blush was opened four years ago and with a second salon on the way the duo aim to grow the business and cater for their ever growing clientele.
“Hopefully with the second salon we can attract more clients and continue to grow as a business. We’re both really looking forward to taking on the big challenge of opening a second salon and we really would like to thank all of our clients and our staff for all the hard work and support they have given us.” said Frances McCarthy.

The award comes after the salon scooped Hair Salon of the Year – South West 2016 at the inaugural Irish Hair and Beauty Awards held in Dublin last September.
Sunday’s award is timely because the salon celebrates its third birthday and is inviting all to an open day this Friday.
It will be an occasion to meet with the staff who will give you advice on your hair and to sample our new range of products.
They will be joined by Zhaia from Aloe Naturale, who will be launching Forever Lite, the weight loss program and will be available for free consultation and advice throughout the day.
There’ll be prosecco and cupcakes and a fantastic giveaway of a complete make over (hair/makeup/tan&snails) and a Clean 9 nutritional cleansing program. It’s on all day so call in anytime.
Brush ‘n’ Blush are also up for the Connect Hair and Beauty Awards at the Rose Hotel on March 12 for ‘Hair Salon of the Year’ ‘Occasion Hair Upstylist’ and ‘Junior Stylist’.
LADIES got to see all that a hair and beauty salon in Caheranne Village has to offer at a night of style, fashion and make-up tips on Tuesday night for a ‘Girls Pampering Evening’.
The open evening was hosted by Brush ‘N’ Blush salon and showcased all the hair and beauty salon has to offer.
Zhaia Shannon from ‘Forever Living’ showcased weight management nutritional supplements featuring their popular Aloe Vera juice and there was fashion tips from Katwalk boutique proprietor Theresa Kiely.
The staff of Brush N Blush were on hand with all hair and make up advice as well as launching their nail bar and many other new products and services.
