THE Sinn Fein TD for Kerry, Pa Daly, has again called for capacity issues on the 272 bus route from Ballybunion to Tralee to be addressed.
Deputy Daly said that students have been left behind again at Munster Technological University due to the 272 bus being almost full on arrival at campus.
“The bus leaves the station at approximately 5.20pm and arrives at campus at approximately 5.40pm, and I have learned a number of students were left behind this week,” he said.

“After myself and Cllr Tom Barry highlighted this last year, a meeting took place with Bus Éireann management where they agreed to put on a larger bus.”
“However, I understand this larger bus is now in use on another route, and will not be used for the full term. Bus Éireann have said that they had made the NTA aware of the situation, and have claimed they are not responsible.
“I will raise this with the Minister for Transport at the earliest opportunity,” he said.

BUS Éireann and TFI Local Link Kerry have welcomed a new and enhanced bus services in Kerry, connecting Tralee with the Dingle Peninsula.
The Bus Éireann route 275 and TFI Local Link route 277 will connect Tralee to Dingle and Dingle to Dunquin respectively, operating seven days a week providing greater connectivity for the towns and villages along the route.
The TFI Local Link Kerry services are timed to connect with the Bus Éireann 275 bus allowing people to complete round-trips from Tralee to Ballydavid, Dunquin, Ballyferriter or Ventry.

The expanded services include;
• Bus Éireann Route 275 Tralee – Blennerville – Camp – Annascaul – Lispole – Dingle (Monday to Sunday)
• TFI Local Link Route 277 Dingle Daingean Uí Chúis – Fionntrá / Ventry – Baile an Fheirtéaraigh / Ballyferriter – Dún Chaoin / Dunquin (Monday to Sunday)
• The 2 TFI Local Link bus services listed below will operate on a Demand Responsive Transport (Door to Door) type model:
• R73 – Dingle Daingean Uí Chúis – Gallarus /Gallaras – Mhuirioch / Murreagh – An Fheothanach / Feohanagh – Baile na nGall / Ballydavid (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday)

There is nothing stopping people visiting the Dingle Peninsula using public transport.”

BUS EIREANN will introduce revisions to services in Kerry from Sunday, April 26.
The company says the revisions have been designed to improve travel opportunities by bus in the county to better meet the changing travel needs of both residents of Kerry and its many visitors.
“These revisions will make our Kerry bus service easier to understand and easier to use,” said Miriam Flynn, Regional Manager, South-West, Bus Éireann.
“The revised network will deliver an excellent public transport service to commuters to work, to students and to tourists and visitors to our county,” she said.
Bus Eireann, have also introduced new timetables, here are some of the features they say have been added.
More user-friendly clock-face timetables
New – daily regular services between Castleisland and Tralee and between Ballybunion and Tralee.
Increased levels of service year-round and especially during the summertime – on services to Dingle, Kenmare, Ballybunion and Ballyheigue, especially at weekends
Better connections with rail services at Tralee and Killarney
Better connections between Kerry Airport and Tralee
Routeing more services directly to both Tralee IT and to Kerry Regional Hospital
