THE hotelier and TV star, Francis Brennan, was in O’Mahony’s book shop on Saturday signing copies of his new book, entitled,  ‘It’s the little things – Francis Brennan’s Guide to Life’.

He also made a few observations about the town centre and Manor West Retail Park while he was in town.

Francis Brennan has been running five star Park Hotel down in Kenmare with his younger brother John for decades now.

“I’ve been coming up and down to Tralee over the years so I know the town quite well. The new roads are confusing me slightly, but apart from that I’m grand,” said Francis Brennan.

“When I was coming in looking at Manor West, I thought to myself, that’s pulling the heart out of town,” said Francis.

“I think business should be focused in the centre of the town. Big shopping centres are a little bit faceless,” said Francis.

“Planning should take note of the heart of the centre of a town, because I see a lot of empty shops around the place,” said Francis said.

The owner of the five star Kenmare hotel, shot to national fame when he and his brother John, starred in the RTE hospitality makeover series, ‘At Your Service’.

Francis was in store where, for around an hour, posed for photos and signed copies of his new book’.

Along with the formalities of the book signing, Francis was more than happy to have a chat with everyone there to meet him.
