A BALLYBUNION man was amused this week when he got a tweet from a Home And Away favourite.
Tommy Walsh from Ballybunion, a relative newcomer to Twitter, checked his social media to find a message from Lynne McGranger, who plays Irene on the Aussie soap.

This isn’t the first time it’s happened to the Ballybunion Tommy, who has been confused with another famous sportsman who bears his name and gained a number of followers from Kilkenny when he joined Twitter. Maybe it’s time to add a profile pic Tommy!

AN Australian soap star was in Kerry yesterday and people got pretty excited.
Nic Westaway, who plays Kyle Braxton in Home And Away, was making a personal appearance at The Stretford End Bar in Causeway last night.

But he also found time to call into St John of Gods to say hello to the adults with special needs and staff there who were delighted to welcome him.
The star, who was staying at the Ballyroe Heights Hotel, then made his way to Causeway where he posed for photos and chatted with the big crowds who showed up.
