The organisers have been inundated with an extensive selection of wonderful raffle and auction prizes including numerous 5 star hotel breaks; Golf (4 Ball) in Dromoland Castle; a racing bicycle worth €1,000; a signed Munster jersey, antiques and much more.
Tommy Brosnan, from The Spa, Tralee, passed away at the beginning of last summer after a five month battle with Motor Neurone Disease.
His family decided to organise the Primrose Ball Tie Gala Both to both raise much needed funds for the IMNDA and, importantly, to raise awareness of the disease and to provide a support network for those who are currently diagnosed and their families in Kerry.
“We have been overwhelmed by the positive response to this event both in terms of ticket sales, and the donation of high value raffle and auction prizes,” said Kate Brosnan, Tommy’s daughter.
“When our family decided to organise this Gala Ball, we wanted to remember and celebrate our dad Tommy and to raise much needed funds for research, patient care and family support for those with Motor Neutron disease in our community. Over the last 10 months alone, two prominent members of our local community have succumbed to this devastating illness. Due to the incredible response we have received to date, we are confident the night will raise substantial funds and sincerely thank everyone for their support,” said Kate.
The evening will commence with a drinks reception and musical entertainment in the Pavilion at 7.30pm, followed by a 5 course meal with wines, auction and post dinner musical entertainment into the night.
The night will be mc’ed by well known Newstalk presenter and journalist, Jonathan Healy. Those still wishing to attend are advised to book their tickets today by clicking here or telephone 087 2920432.
