LET’S hope the parade goes off on time tomorrow night!
While the rain has so far been light today and tomorrow looks dry, things aren’t looking so good for Saturday night.
The remnants of tropical Storm Ernesto is on the way and has prompted Met Eireann to issue a Status Yellow – Weather Advisory for the whole of Ireland from Saturday night at 8pm.

Now they are still monitoring the situation, but from their predicted rainfall monitor on their website, it looks like the heavy rain will hit Tralee sometime between 9pm and 10pm.
Hopefully the Roses will have some rain-gear at the ready, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea if the powers that be made sure the parade went off on time…or even a little early this year!
Met Eireann says there will be “high intensity rainfall over a relatively short period of time for many areas on Saturday night associated with the remnants of Tropical Storm Ernesto. Totals up to 20mm could occur quite widely with higher falls locally. The situation will continue to be monitored.”
The warning is valid until Sunday at 8am, but the rain should have cleared much earlier in Tralee and we’re in for a dry day on Sunday so the Roses will enjoy rain-free conditions for the second parade which takes place at 2.30pm.
