THE Bon Secours Rose Cup was held on Saturday at Healy Park in Kerins O’Rahillys and Na Gaeil GAA grounds.
Sixteen teams competed to win Rose Cup and Shield in the Under 13 blitz. Throughout the day there was excitement in both venues as the standard was very high and the games very competitive.
After the respective semi-finals, in the Rose Cup Final Austin Stacks faced Na Gaeil with the Rockies winning out in the end in a close game.

In the Rose Shield Final, John Mitchels faced Milltown/Castlemaine in another decider that went down to the wire with Milltown/Castlemaine getting the win.
The organisers thanked the Roses and Escorts who attended both venues and the referees who helped out.
THE GAA Rose Cup is back for 2024. The Bon Secours Hospital Tralee is the main sponsor of the competition which will see Under 13 teams from all over Kerry, Limerick, Dublin and Cork contest for the Bon Secours Rose Cup.
This competition is a prestigious event on the GAA Juvenile calendar in Kerry and is organised by Coiste Tra Li in association with the Rose of Tralee Festival.
Sixteen teams will be battling it out for the Rose Cup and the Rose Shield. Last year, Na Gaeil of Tralee won the Rose Cup with Legion from Killarney winning the Shield.

The standard of competition is expected to be very high again this year with such clubs as Austin Stacks, John Mitchels, Dr Crokes, Milltown/Castlemaine competing. Travelling to Kerry this year are Fr Casey’s Abbeyfeale with teams also travelling from Limerick, Douglas in Cork and Culas from Co Dublin.
At the launch where representatives from Coiste Tra Li, Bon Secours management and players from local GAA Clubs.
The matches will get underway on Saturday August the 17th at two Tralee GAA venues – Na Gaeil and Kerins O’Rahilly’s from 10:30am with the finals being held at Na Gaeil GAA Pitch on Saturday afternoon the 17th of August. The Rose of Tralee will present the winning teams with their medals later that day.

Last year John Mitchels of Tralee won the Rose Cup with Douglas of Cork winning the Shield.

THE Rose Cup will return this year to take place on Saturday, August 20.
The Tralee Town Board in association with the Rose of Tralee Festival are organising the competition and they have welcomed the Bon Secours Hospital in Tralee on board this year as the main sponsor.
Sixteen clubs will take part —including clubs from Limerick, Waterford and Cork — in the games at two venues at Kerins O’Rahillys grounds at Ballyrickard and at Na Gaeil’s pitches in Killeen.

Kerry Rose Édaein O’Connell joined representatives from local GAA clubs, the Tralee Town Board and Bon Secours staff and management for the launch of the competition on Friday.
The competition for Under 13 boys was founded around 20 years ago to coincide with the Festival.
THE Rose Cup is back for 2022 and it was launched recently at the Rose Wall in the Town Park.
Six of this year’s Rose contestants joined members of the Kerry Girls squad, their head coach Siobhan Cushen and Director of Girls Football Noel White for the launch.
The inaugural soccer Rose Cup for girls took place in 2019 when the KSBGL teamed up with the International Rose of Tralee committee to host a 13’s Girls Inter League tournament.

The Clare Schoolboys & Girls Soccer League were the first winners and their captain Keelan Madden was presented with the Cup by the then Rose of Tralee Kirsten Mate Maher on the Denny Street stage ahead of the Rose Parade.
The big day in the Girls game will take place on August 20th with Tralee Dynamos FC as the hosts. Taking part alongside host Kerry will be League teams from the MGL (Dublin), Clare, Cork, West Cork, South Tipperary and Limerick Desmond.
The Rose Cup and Shield will be presented to the captains on the stage on Denny Street ahead of the Rose Parade that night which is another of the wonderful parts of the Festival that everyone will be delighted to see on the streets of Tralee again.
Chair of the KSBGL Aidan Murnane said the League was delighted to renew its association with the Rose of Tralee.
“Both the KSBGL and the Rose of Tralee Festival has community at its centre and we believe the association is a perfect match. We provide football for girls and boys at all ages up to and including 16’s and the 2009 Girls are an especially important age group as the players will be representing their Leagues at the SFAI Gaynor Cup in summer 2023.
“And the girls love the connection with the Roses and their visit to the 2019 Rose Cup was one of the highlights of the day and we are delighted that this happen again this year not withstanding their very busy schedule.
“We look forward to welcoming Leagues from around the country to Tralee for the second running of the Rose Cup, an event that we hope will grow year on year and become an inaugural part of the community side of the International Rose of Tralee Festival.”
U14 TEAMS from Kerry, Dublin and Limerick will contest the Oaklands Daybreak Rose Cup Boys Football Tournament during the 2015 Rose of Tralee International Festival.
Now in its seventh year, this competition is a prestigious event on the GAA Juvenile calendar in Ireland and it will be organised by Coiste Trá Lí under the banner of the Rose of Tralee International Festival.
Plans for this year’s event are at an advanced stage but it will see 16 teams from Kerry, Dublin and Limerick battling it out for the Rose Cup and Rose Shield.
The Tralee area teams taking part will be, Kerins O’Rahilly’s, Austin Stacks, Na Gaeil, Churchill and Ballymac. From further field coming to the tournament are South Liberties from Limerick and St Maurs from Dublin.
Other Kerry clubs include, Dr Crokes, Legion and An Gaeltacht so you can expect the standard of competition to be high. Indeed, last year’s Rose Cup champions, Austin Stacks, have gone on to sweep the boards in 2015, claiming a national Feile title. Na Gaeil meanwhile are the current holders of the Rose Shield.
Each team will play three games of 20 minutes and the top teams will compete for the Rose Cup and Rose Shield. These will be presented to the winning captains by the 2014 Rose of Tralee, Marie Walsh and the proprietor of Oaklands Daybreak on the Listowel Road, James O’Donoghue.
The matches will get underway on Saturday August 15 at two Tralee GAA venues – Kerins O’Rahilly’s and Na Gaeil.
