THE Kerry Ladies Football team will be part of the Rose of Tralee/Féile Thrá Lí Sunday afternoon parade on August 18.
Mayor of Tralee, Cllr Mikey announced the news this morning saying: “I am thrilled to announce that our victorious All Ireland Ladies Kerry team will be a proud part of the upcoming Rose of Tralee / Féile Thrá Lí parade.”
“Organising this began right after the final whistle of Sunday’s match when Kerry clinched the victory. I have spoken with both the team management and the Chairperson of the Kerry LGFA and I’m delighted to confirm this is going to happen.”

“This addition brings a new dynamic to our parade and is a fitting recognition of the Kerry Ladies team for their remarkable achievements and their role in promoting women’s sport in our county.”
“A huge thank you to the Tralee MD office for their instrumental role in organizing this, along with the International Rose of Tralee Festival and the Feile Thrá Lí committee. Your hard work and dedication are greatly appreciated!” added Mayor Sheehy.

THE crowds turned out in their thousands to see the Roses paraded through the streets of the town last night.
There was great colour in some quarters with the Cork Rose supporters in particular playing a stormer at the corner of Denny Street as they waited for their Kate.
There was also sizeable contingents for the Sydney, Western Canada, Germany and many others dotted along the route, while we spotted loads of local people enjoying the parade as you can see below…

THANKFULLY, the weather held on Saturday night so the masses could enjoy one of the highlights of the Rose of Tralee/Féile Thrá Lí festival week.
There was a sizeable crowd present for the Rose parade which made its way from John Joe Sheehy Road arriving at Castle Street just after 9pm.
DJ Chris Shortt, stationed at the bottom of Denny Street, kept the crowd entertained as they waited patiently for the bands and floats, while Brian Hurley was at the top of the street welcoming the Roses to the stage.
The evening culminated with a spectacular fireworks display which signalled the festival fun has truly begun! Scroll down for photos…

SATURDAY night was alright for partying as the Rose Parade returned after three years.
Brian Hurley proved an adept MC for the evening as he introduced all the participants from the main stage on Denny Street.
The biggest cheer was reserved for the Kerry Rose Édaein O’Connell who took her place on the stage with the other 32 Roses at the end of the parade. Hopefully she’ll grace the stage again tomorrow night when the new Rose of Tralee is crowned! Scroll down for photos…

FOR the second time in a month, thousands of people lined the streets of Tralee to wave and cheer on an evening of celebration.
While it was the victorious footballers being hailed back in July, the crowds on Saturday night were celebrating the return of the Rose parade after a period of three years.
The weather didn’t play ball though and the rain came just as the parade started. However, the crowds stayed to see the 33 Roses who waved from the floats in what was another extravaganza of noise and colour.
The evening came to a close with the spectacular fireworks display leaving the crowd to enjoy the rest of the entertainment on the streets and in the bars of the town. Scroll down for photos…

THERE was that ‘dirty mist’ around town for most of the evening, but thankfully it cleared for much of the Rose of Tralee Parade on Saturday night.
The crowds showed up as usual for the event, but it was shorter than usual because there were only 32 Roses taking part as opposed to 64 over the past few years.
That didn’t take away from the colour and atmosphere though, as thousands enjoyed the fun with colourful floats, fantastic bands and Brian Hurley and John Drummey did fantastic jobs as MCs for the event. Brian even got Sergeant Tim O’Keeffe to do a little dancing.
The Roses had a great time too as they waved to the locals as well as many family members and friends amongst the throngs of people present. It all ended with a spectacular fireworks display to truly augment the wonderful festival atmosphere in town. Scroll down for photos…

IT wasn’t looking good for a while last night as the wind and rain lashed the streets of Tralee.
The crowds were thin on the ground too, even up to 8.30pm when the parade was due to start. By the time the parade eventually reached Castle Street it was 9.15pm and thankfully the rain eased off to bring the crowds out.
This year’s 57 International Roses, the Rose of Tralee Jennifer Byrne and RTÉ TV Presenter, Dáithí Ó Sé were among the 700 people who took part in the event, including marching bands and the Rosebuds.
It was a colourful affair and, as usual, the night ended with a super fireworks display. Scroll down for photos…
THE residents of Boherbee came out on the streets on Saturday night for their annual pre-parade party.
The local traders and residents decided to join in the festive atmosphere of the Rose of Tralee by holding a party with live music, fun races and much more.
TraleeToday.ie’s Ryan Higgins was there to photograph the residents on the night.
THE Saturday night parade always ends with a bang and this year was no exception as the sky was lit up with fireworks.
DJ Brian Hurley also got the Roses, Rosebuds and Escorts dancing in front of the massive crowd on Denny Street as the video below shows. They sure can move!
