Well apart from much-need funds being raised for a great cause, a few familiar faces from the world of sport gave their time to strut their stuff on the catwalk at The Rose Hotel last night.
Kerry GAA legends Ogie Moran, Sean Walsh and Eoin Liston looked like pros on the runway, as did James Sugrue, Shane Guthrie and Tralee Chamber Alliance CEO, Kieran Ruttledge as they all played their part in a very successful night. Scroll down for more photos from the event…
AUTUMN/WINTER fashions from local boutiques were on display at a charity fashion show last night.
The people at Shaws Department Store decided to organise the event last night at The Rose Hotel to help out the Irish Hospice Foundation and it was well supported with over 100 people attending.
They enjoyed a wine reception followed by a show MC’d by Margaret Kissane of Connect Kerry featuring fashions from Shaws, Pamela Scott, Jasmine, Effigy, Benetton, Annburys, Carraig Donn, Paco and Swamp.
There were loads of spot prizes and ladies got plenty ideas on what to wear for the upcoming party season. Scroll down for photos (we’ll have more later)…
SHAWS employees put on a great fashion show in aid of Recovery Haven, on Thursday night at the Ashe Hotel.
Anna Bunyan and Maria Guthrie from the store were the driving force behind the event. They decided to raise funds for the Killerisk facility because of the incredible work the cancer charity does in the community.
A ‘Best Dressed Lady’ competition was co-judged by Killian Young and Fine Gael election candidate, Grace O’Donnell and Shaws Tralee fashion buyer, Geraldine Beere.
Models came from Norma O’Donoghue modelling agency while clothes were provided by Shaws, Pamala Scott, Jasmine, Effigy, Annburys and Benetton, with make up duties by CH Chemist staff and hair by Cathriona.
There was loads of spot prizes and a disco from Big Jim followed.

“It’s a great cause and they need all the support they can get because it’s all voluntary,” said Anna Bunyan from Shaws.

A ‘Best Dressed Lady’ competition, will be co-judged by Killian Young, giving the Kerry footballer an opportunity to follow Paul Galvin into the fashion world!
Joining Killian on the judging panel for Best Dressed Lady are Fine Gael election candidate, Grace O’Donnell and Shaws Tralee fashion buyer, Geraldine Beere. The winner will pick up a voucher from Shaws.
Models will be from Norma O’Donoghue modelling agency who will host the event.
Clothes will be provided by Shaws, Pamala Scott, Jasmine, Effigy, Annburys and Benetton. On make up duties are CH Chemist staff and hair by Cathriona.
There will be loads of spot prizes and a disco from Big Jim, to round off a night of great style. The Ashe Hotel have provided the venue on the night free of charge.
Doors open at 7:30pm and tickets cost €20. They can be bought from Shaws on Russell Street and Recover Haven, 5 Haigs Terrace in Killerisk.
