Community Garden’s Season Off To A Sunny Start With County Clean-Up

IT was a beautiful day for the beginning of this year’s season with the Tralee Community Garden Project in the Town Park.

Participants helped out as part of the KWD County Clean Up that began last weekend.

The project is collecting plastic bottles for the new recycled plastic bottle greenhouse being built this year, which is part supported by Local Agenda 21 funding, and have already received loads of donations. Once again, this year’s opening attracted international participation.

You can see Hartigan and his sister Keira Deely from New York, USA proudly showing off their contribution to keeping the county clean. Visiting their grandparents who live in Tralee, the children were accompanied by mom Betty and dad Thomas who also helped on the day.

The project would be delighted with any further donations of rinsed 2 litre clear plastic bottles as it helps recycle and positively use this waste product. The project will recommence in the garden on Saturday from 10.30 am – 12.30pm.
