Never fear! It’s almost at the end of the week and the bodies and bones are aching to relax. Here’s a few things to get up to…
FRIDAY
1. For those out there who may like to ‘bust a move’ on a night out, we might have the perfect day and evening in store for you!
Friday promises to be a very exciting time in Siamsa Tire as the The ‘Tocht Festival Of Dance’ is set to touch down for the weekend. ‘Tocht’ will be two days of dance watching, learning, joining in and experiencing something new.
The day will start off with a ‘Contemporary Dance Workshop’ for both professional and semi-professional dancers starting from 9.30am until 11.30am. This will then be followed by another workshop with Michael Keegan-Dolan at 12pm until 5pm that evening accompanied by live music.
Jean Butler of ‘Riverdance’ fame will also be here on the night as she performs in her show ‘duet one’ which will be taking place at 7pm.

SATURDAY
2. TRALEE Rowing Club (TRC) will be hosting their rescheduled 24-hour charity rowing event this weekend, as they look to raise much-needed funds for the completion of their new clubhouse that is being built.
Members of the public are being encouraged to come down and show their support to the 48 different crews that will be participating over the over the weekend. In what promises to be an excellent event, it is being scheduled to go ahead this Saturday April 25 at 2pm at the canal and will continue on through the night until 2pm the next day Sunday April 26.
So come on down, if only for a few minutes to give the tired athletes a much needed cheer to get them over the finish line!
3. If the weather stays as good as it has been, then the ‘Walk 4 Life’ event happening should prove to be a massive success and one that you should definitely think about attending, even as a supporter.
The 5km walk is being held to raise awareness about mental health and suicide awareness/prevention and will be taking place at 8pm leaving from Tralee Bay Wetlands.
Tea and coffee refreshments will also be on hand afterwards also coupled with the lighting of tee lights.
All proceeds from the event will be going to the chosen charities such as ‘Jigsaw Kerry’, ‘Pieta House’, ‘Be Aware Prevent Suicide’ and ‘The Kerry Peer Support Network’.
Registration packs for the event will cost €10 and will consist of a tee light, ‘Walk 4 Life’ wristbands, green ribbon, high visibility jacket and a flyer that has the information the help available to people in Kerry.
4. It will be a clash of the All-Ireland Club Junior Champs v the Munster Senior Club champs when Austin Stacks travel the short distance out the road to face off against the hardy men from Ardfert.
They will be facing off in Stacks first game of the Club Championship. Throw in will be at 6.30pm on Saturday evening and it’s sure to be a thrilling match for GAA lovers.
Meanwhile on Sunday, John Mitchels face An Ghaeltacht at 2pm in Ballyseedy.
