THE TraleeĀ institution that is Kirby’s Brogue Inn will re-open its doors again this Thursday morning at 9am.

The famous landmark at the bottom of Rock Street will openĀ for the first time since April 2013.

Under new ownership, but continuing to have strong links with the Kirby Family, 35 people will be employed at the Brogue Inn which has undergone a major renovation both inside and outside.

The doors will open at 9am after what has been an emotional roller-coaster for the new proprietors Fiona Kirby and her husband, Kevin Cotter.

There has been phenomenal support for the family from local people and businesses since news emerged that the business was to reopen.

Fiona’s late father, Bill Kirby, had built a strong reputation for the Brogue as being one of the most popular eating and drinking establishments in the country for over 30 years.

No doubt that reputation will be enhanced over the coming years.
