Three Things To Do From Christmas Eve To St Stephen’s Day

Spraoi insert

IT’S almost turkey time, but for anyone who wants to escape the house between now and Saturday, let’s see what you can get up to…

1. Take in the atmosphere

There’s nothing like going to town on Christmas Eve and meeting up with friends and family. The atmosphere is special everywhere, especially in the pubs which shut early so people head home in good spirits rather than fall in the door.

2. Take A Dip

The weather is supposed to be dry and relatively mild this year so why not blow off the morning cobwebs with an afternoon swim in Fenit on Christmas Day.

At 12 noon hundreds of people will make the first of three dashes into the Atlantic. I’m sure the water will be lovely and warm…

3. Walk off the turkey

Join Michael ‘Fox’ O’Connor and friends for the annual Bill Kirby Memorial Walk on St Stephen’s Day. It starts at the Brogue Inn at 11.30am but the fun and entertainment beings at 11am. Music and refreshments will be provided and donations are accepted on the day for Palliative Care in Kerry General Hospital. Sponsorship Cards available from Michael Fox O’Connor 087 9833075.
