A LOCAL man is encouraging people to support Enable Ireland’s annual ‘Life With No Limits’ campaign takes place from 19-30 September this year.
‘Life With No Limits’ provides a platform for children and adults with disabilities using Enable Ireland services to share their life experiences while raising much-needed funds to support the charity’s work. This year, more than ever, the charity is relying on the public’s support for their vital therapy and support services.
This year’s ‘Life with No Limits’ champion is Tommy Cole, a 22 year old man from Tralee. He attends Kerry adult services, and has been with Enable Ireland since he was a child.

Enable Ireland children’s service in Tralee provides vital therapy and support services to children with disabilities and their families. For adults with disabilities, they provide day and community outreach services.
Tommy is interested in politics, sport, tech, fashion, and most importantly, equality.
Tommy was one of the organisers of the first ever RISE event in Tralee. “Along with some other people in the service, I set up the RISE event in Tralee. RISE is a nightclub experience with a difference, where people with all levels of ability come to enjoy a night out with their friends. The event was one of the first of its kind in Ireland, designed for people with physical and intellectual disabilities from all over the county to get together and socialise safely with their friends, and most importantly have some fun.”
Tommy and the team were delighted with the number of people who attended. “We are already planning a second night, but Covid has put a halt to our plans. We want the second event to be even more inclusive than the first, where anyone can attend, we welcome mixed ability people.”
Tommy lives life with no limits and his motto is “Don’t let disability get in the way of what you want to achieve”.
The public can support Enable Ireland’s services for over 9,200 children and adults with disabilities by donating online at www.enableireland.ie.
Like many charities, Enable Ireland has been significantly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and is facing a loss of €1.5million in funding due to the cancellation of fundraising events and their charity shops being closed for three months.
Donal Kitt, Enable Ireland National Fundraising Manager comments on the campaign; “It is a really positive campaign and vitally important for raising awareness of living with a disability and raising funds for Enable Ireland’s services. There are lots of ways you can help – buy our Life With No Limits merchandise in our charity shops or make a donation online at www.enableireland.ie. Now, more than ever, we need the help of the public to raise funds to support our services for children and adults with disabilities.”
Support the ‘Enable Ireland Life with No Limits’ campaign from 19-30 September and help raise vital funds for disability services.
You can also support Enable Ireland this September by donating a bag of quality clothing or household items into any TK Maxx store nationwide as part of their Give Up Clothes For Good campaign.
Great to see someone try and give something back on a local level.
