Enable Ireland children’s service in Tralee provides vital therapy and support services to children with disabilities and their families. For adults with disabilities, they provide day and community outreach services.

Tommy is interested in politics, sport, tech, fashion, and most importantly, equality.

Tommy was one of the organisers of the first ever RISE event in Tralee. “Along with some other people in the service, I set up the RISE event in Tralee. RISE is a nightclub experience with a difference, where people with all levels of ability come to enjoy a night out with their friends. The event was one of the first of its kind in Ireland, designed for people with physical and intellectual disabilities from all over the county to get together and socialise safely with their friends, and most importantly have some fun.”

Tommy and the team were delighted with the number of people who attended. “We are already planning a second night, but Covid has put a halt to our plans. We want the second event to be even more inclusive than the first, where anyone can attend, we welcome mixed ability people.”

Tommy lives life with no limits and his motto is “Don’t let disability get in the way of what you want to achieve”.

Donal Kitt, Enable Ireland National Fundraising Manager comments on the campaign; “It is a really positive campaign and vitally important for raising awareness of living with a disability and raising funds for Enable Ireland’s services. There are lots of ways you can help – buy our Life With No Limits merchandise in our charity shops or make a donation online at Now, more than ever, we need the help of the public to raise funds to support our services for children and adults with disabilities.”
