A TRALEE boy was selected from hundreds of young people to appear in an RTE documentary in connection with the 1916 rising commemorations in the coming months.
Nine-year-old Ben Sharp, a pupil at Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn, was selected from hundreds of youngsters to be one of the six child actors in the programme, ‘1916 Children’, which was filmed yesterday in St. Enda’s (Padraig Pearse-founded School) in Dublin.

The programme invited the youngsters to spend 24 hours in the lives of their 1916 ancestors with actor Simon Delaney starring alongside them.
The participants undertook the typical tasks and challenges faced by a 1916 child.
