IF you passed by the Ashe Memorial Hall or Kerry County Buildings last night you might have noticed a bit of a colour change.

The buildings were lit up blue to mark National Irish Sign Language Day. On December 14 2017, the Irish Sign Language (ISL) Act was passed by the Dáil.

To commemorate this milestone, the Deaf community now celebrates National ISL Day every year on that date.

Local members of the community came out to mark the event in front of The Ashe Memorial and enjoyed refreshments afterwards in The Ashe Hotel.
