Tralee Company Makes Google Start-Up Programme

Companies will attend an exclusive programme of lectures and workshops as well as receiving hands on mentoring from experienced Google employees over the next 12 weeks.

TRALEE company ‘Wazp’ has made it into Google’s Adopt A Startup Programme.

Google has announced the 30 strong cohort of start-ups that will be taking part in its Spring Adopt A Startup programme which launched on  March 12 and the Tralee 3D Printing Supply Chain Platform is among them.

The start-up, Hassett, an engineer, founded by Shane Hassett and Ukranian industrial designer Mariana Kobal, is growing from strength to strength and is using 3D manufacturing to make home decor for retailing giant Ikea.

As part of the programme, start-ups will undergo an intensive 12 week mentoring programme by experienced Google employees and attend an series of exclusive lectures and workshops at Google’s EMEA headquarters in Dublin.

Agri-Tech, E-commerce, 3D printing, recruitment, tourism and media are just some of the industries this season’s startups operate in.

At the end of the 12 weeks, eight successful startups will get the opportunity to showcase their results from the programme to a panel of industry experts including members of Google Ireland’s leadership team.

The overall winner of the programme will receive €10,000 in AdWords credit as well as eligibility for the Google Cloud programme which comes with $100,000 Google Cloud Credit.

The seven runners up will also be eligible for the programme and the chance to receive $20,000 in Google Cloud Credits, while one lucky company will win three months free hot desking in Dogpatch Labs, a Google For Entrepreneurs partner.
