We started the first quarter gaining possession and a first score from Rheanne, Ulster played tight defense keeping our players out from under the boards, we excelled on steals with with fast breaks gaining some valuable scores and getting fouled and going to the line for free throws a number of times, giving Team Garveys a one point lead at the end of the first quarter 22-21

Starting the second quarter with a big three point play from Laura Hoffman our team played a running game, it was neck and neck at this point four mins to the half when Casandrea hit a 2 point score followed very soon afterwards by a big three point play delivering a very comfortable 4 point lead at half time, coach Bersen and Diggins were very optimistic at this point. Garveys 39 Ulster 35.

Both teams went into the second half eager to gain scores to enable their team to get ahead, it was score for score with Deirdre Geaney and Amanda Brosnan both getting fouled foing to the board consectively and also gaining more points on the free throw line to show another one point lead to Team Garveys at the end of the third quarter 57-58

Final quarter was very exciting as at one point Ulster had a nine point lead ahead but Garveys pulled the score back to three points between the teams, some of our players were in foul trouble but it didn’t knock their spirit, they played their hearts out fighting for every ball, just three mins to go Ulster got on top of this match and hit two three point shots to close out the game.
