Well, September is almost here! That means plans are well underway at Tralee Magic Basketball Club for our return to training and games!

We understand its a busy time for all families, so to help with planning, a preview of our training schedule can be found on our social media pages.

Prior to return to training, from the 7th September, we have organised an informal shoot around and introduction to coaches for our Tralee Magic Shooting Stars Academy (boys and girls born on or after 2014).

As always, our Academy coaches will be a mixture of older club players, our favourite Tralee Warrior Super league players…and top secret new signings! Players from any part of Tralee town and the surrounding areas are welcome.

U16 Girls Trials- 11th and 14th August Mounthawk Gym 8pm to 9pm. Bring ball, water and €3.

It is important that anyone who can’t make trials but intends to play this year makes contact with team management before the trials, using Clubzapp

We look forward to welcoming back our Tralee Magic underage members! Our 2022/2023 season was a very successful one for the club.

We had both boys and girls teams successfully compete at local and national level. We are planning to continue and build on that success this year.

There is very exciting developments underway for ladies basketball at Tralee Magic. We are almost ready for an announcement…watch this space.

As our club continues to grow and be successful, we will need more volunteers. Tralee Magic Basketball Team is run entirely by volunteers.

This year we are  appealing to parents to volunteer  with their child’s basketball team, from Academy all the way to the senior teams…not just coaches, to put out cones, to help organise teams, to help with some of the games…no Basketball experience needed!

Please speak to your childs coach at training if you can help out in any way, or email traleemagicbc@gmail.com

Although we are in the off season, Tralee Magic player are still very active. Congratulations to U14 Tralee Magic Players Abbie Crowley, Sophie Mitchell, and Evie O’Sullivan who won the Girls Eyre Square 3×3 competition in july, along with Gracie O’Sullivan of the Ballybunion Wildcats. Well done girls! A great achievement!

Tralee Magic Player Aivaras Uosis captained his U18 Ireland Mens team in the European championships.

While the team results where not what we had hoped for, Aivaras gave a characteristically impressive personal performance.

He ground out an average of 14.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3 assists per game!  Well done Aivaras! There are surely great things ahead for you in basketball!

Aivaras had  the company of fellow Tralee Magic team mate Joshua Osayanrhion in the European championship.

Joshua contributed a very respectable average of 3 points, 3  rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game. We are all so proud of the player Joshua is becoming!

We are also delighted to announce that last year’s main club sponsors will continue their sponsorship of the club this year. Thank you to Lee Strand and Sandy Feet Farm for your support.
