Two Tralee Winners In Irish Restaurant Awards Munster Regional Final

THERE were two Tralee winner in the Munster Regional Final for the 2019 Irish Restaurant Awards which took place in the Strand Hotel, Limerick, last night.

Alfie’s at The Ashe Hotel won ‘Best Casual Dining’ venue in Kerry while Yummy Cafe won the ‘Best Kids Size Me’ meal (see full list of Kerry winners below).

Over 550 people attended the regional events on Wednesday evening, where the top establishments in each county were named.

All of those who won in Kerry at county level will now compete for the Regional and All Ireland Titles, which will be announced at the Irish Restaurant Awards. These will be held in the Clayton Hotel, Dublin on Monday, May, 2019.

The Kerry winners were;

• Best Restaurant — Kerry: Mulcahys

• Best Chef — Kerry: Gorka Arrieta of Sol y Sombra Tapas Bar & Restaurant

• Best Newcomer — Kerry: Solas Tapas & Wine Bar

• Best Hotel and Guesthouse  — Kerry: Lakeside Restaurant at Carrig Country House

• Best Restaurant Manager — Kerry: Cliodhna Foley of Sol y Sombra Tapas Bar & Restaurant

Best Customer Service — Kerry: Castlewood House

• Best Café – Kerry: Maison Gourmet

• Pub of the Year – Kerry: Foxy Johns

• Best Wine Experience – Kerry: Sol y Sombra Tapas Bar & Restaurant

• Best Gastro Pub – Kerry: Gastrobar at the Glenbeigh Hotel

• Best World Cuisine — Kerry: Lily House Thai and Chinese Restaurant

• Best “Free From” —Kerry: Bookstop Café

• Best Kids Size Me — Kerry: Yummy Café Market

• Best Local Food Hero – Kerry: Chad Byrne of Chef Collab

• Best Local Food Hero, Munster – Chad Byrne of Chef Collab

• Best Emerging Irish Cuisine – Kerry: No. 35 Restaurant

• Best Casual Dining – Kerry: Alfie’s at the Ashe
