HUNDREDS of Junior Cert students received their results on Wednesday morning and will head out on the town tonight to celebrate.
However, any of them thinking of partaking in underage drinking may get a shock, as undercover Gardaí will be around the town and in pubs and off-licences to ensure teens don’t get their hands on alcohol.
While it is a joyous occasion for the students and many of them celebrate with friends and family without alcohol, some Junior Cert celebrations in the past have been problematic with students engaging in alcohol abuse.
Earlier this week on Radio Kerry, a Garda spokesperson said they will be looking to ensure older parties don’t buy drink for underage students by going undercover in off-licences and monitoring behaviour.
