THIS Friday has been declared a countywide ‘Christmas Jumper Day’ with people encouraged to wear the eye-piercing garment to school or work while contributing to St Vincent de Paul.
The event is the brainchild of the people at Radio Kerry and replaces the annual live radio auction as a fundraiser for St Vincent De Paul in Kerry.

They are encouraging families, schools, businesses and groups all over the county to get involved in the event, to take a photograph of the group or a selection of selfies and ask each person in the group to make a minimum donation of €2 to St Vincent de Paul.
People can donate directly to their local St Vincent de Paul office or shop in Kerry or drop your donation in to Radio Kerry, Maine Street, Tralee or Glebe Lane, Killarney and they’ll get the money to St Vincent de Paul.
Radio Kerry are also encouraging people to send their photos via their Facebook or Twitter pages or email svp@radiokerry.ie , along with the amount of money they raised and they’ll post your photos as well as giving you a mention on air.
Watch some of the staff from Radio Kerry wearing the lovely jumpers and donating to St Vincent de Paul in the video below.
