Warriors Stay On Track For Playoffs After Win Over Killester

.

A PACKED house again saw Garveys Tralee Warriors win a vital game against Killester to retain fourth place in the Men’s Superleague.

They’re now nine points clear of Killester in the table, although the Dublin club have two games in hand on Tralee.

Warriors knew what they had to do and went about their task with intent, leading 21-16 after the first quarter.

Staying focussed, the home side kept up the momentum keeping the opposition at bay to keep that five point lead by half time, 40-35.

The home side were fantastic as always and spurred on the Warriors to increase their lead to 12 points at the end of the third, 66 to 54.

Killester attempted a comeback in the fourth and despite reducing the gap, Warriors were not to be denied, winning 86 to 80.

Tralee have five games remaining now and three of them are against the teams above them in the table – away games against UCD Marian and leaders Templogue, with a home game against Griffith Swords Thunder.

Their next outing is against Eanna BC in Dublin next week before the three big ones, while they finish their league fixtures at home on March 18 against Radisson Blu UL Eagles at 8pm, the same night as Kerry face Dublin in the football. What are the odds that match will be brought forward to 5pm?
