WE witnessed a thriller in Croke Park yesterday between Kerry and Mayo that matched the tension of their replayed semi-final of three years ago.
Forty years ago today though, the daddy of all semi-finals took place. Kerry and Dublin met in Croke Park on August 21, 1977.
The game is considered one of the greatest of all time, but we came out on the wrong side of the result 3-12 to 1-13.

Kerry would go on the following year to beat the Dubs in the final and dominate the game for the next eight years, but this is considered the greatest game of that era.
