Stacks To Bid For Glory In Sligo At Féile na nÓg Tournament

.

THERE’S great excitement in Austin Stacks this week as youngsters prepare to head off to Sligo for the All Ireland U14 Feile football tournament.

This will be the fifth year in a row that The Rockies will travel to the Feile tournament going to Derry (2013), Galway (2014), Wexford (2015) — when they won the Division 1 title — whilst they played along with all the other Kerry clubs in Kerry last year.

They will go into the tournament big on confidence having captured the County title with a victory over Laune Rangers in April.

Over the past month the fundraising committee of Orla Foley, Tom Quilter, Hazel Heinrich and Eileen Nagle have worked wonders in accumulating enough funds to kit, feed and transport the boys for the weekend.

This Stacks team has looked strong in local competition but this Feile adventure pits them against the best. Hopes are high that they will respond to the ultimate test.

They are one of two Tralee teams heading to Féile na nÓg, the other being Na Gaeil (more about them later.)
