A NEW summer programme for people with intellectual disabilities is being held at Tralee Bay Wetlands this month.
The ‘Wilderness Adventure Therapy Summer Camp’ is a collaboration between the Inspired group and the Wetlands where participants enjoy such activities as arts & crafts, campfire cookout, scavenger hunts, orienteering, group therapy sessions, skill & leadership building exercises, music, dance, campfire sing songs, outdoor yoga, day trips, boating and simply making new friends.
The programme of activities has been especially designed for those with intellectual disabilities from 15 years and older. The sold-out camp began in mid-July and continues until the end of the month.
On Wednesday, guests from businesses and organisations around Tralee were invited to the Wetlands to see for themselves how the participants are enjoying the activities. Scroll down for photos…
