“We are thrilled once again to be working not only with CBBC but also CBeebies to build the franchise together and take the show to a new audience,” said Chief executive John Rice, a former CBS The Green student, said in a statement on Thursday.

The new series, “Little Roy”, will follow on from the original “Roy” which won Jam a 2012 Bafta award and is now shown in more than 100 territories.

“Little Roy” is to air on both CBBC and CBeebies, while a separate deal was also announced by the company for a spin-off series “The Roy Files” on CBBC.
