A CHARACTER created by a former Tralee CBS student’s company is featured as part of a four stamp set that has been released today by An Post.
John Rice, originally from Abbeydorney, who is the CEO of Jam Media will have the character ‘Roy’ from his 2009 animation featured on the new 68c stamp.
The stamps are a celebration of the recent success of the Irish animation industry and will feature the animations from other success stories such as ‘Give Up Yer Aul Sins’, ‘The Secret of Kells’ and ‘Nelly & Nora’.
Roy was awarded the coveted 2012 Children’s BAFTA Drama Award and was nominated for two more Children’s BAFTA awards in the drama and writers categories in 2014.
The stamps were designed by leading Irish design company Vermillion Design and are available from main post offices, from the Stamp Shop in Dublin’s GPO and online here.
