WITH the Christmas lights on and everybody feeling all festive, there’s a special feeling about the town this time of the year.

This will be enhanced in the coming days with Mark Leen bringing art exhibitions, music, poetry and finally the launch of his new book at his cafe The Nu Place on Bridge Street.

On Wednesday evening from 5.30pm, artist Violet Leen will have Tralee-themed Christmas cards, Mark will be singing Christmas favourites while author Paula M. Hickey will give a talk on the creative writing process.

On Thursday from 5.30pm, local artist Damien Slattery will hold an exhibition of his work in the cafe and a talk on art, including his plans for murals on ESB boxes in town, with more music from Mark.

On Friday evening there will be more Christmas music and poetry reading, while on Saturday at 4pm, Mark will officially launch his new children’s book ‘The Postman And Doggie Woggie’ which is already proving popular.

The events are free and everyone is encouraged to come along and sample the Christmas atmosphere at The Nu Place.
