A LOCAL company has raised funds for a worthy charity while staff also got some exercise in last month.

Staff at Aspen Grove took part in ‘Steptember’ and raised €1,400 which was presented to the charity on Friday.

Head of Corporate Affairs at Aspen Grove, Maeve Townsend, explained how they raised the funds. “Staff were invited to take part in ‘Steptember’ so we logged our steps every day and for everyone who achieved over 200,000 steps for the month (or 7,000 per day) we donated €50 per person.

“While we did the challenge two years ago, this is the first time we took on the challenge for a charity. To get more people involved we decided to do it for a great cause and the staff themselves voted to do it for Recovery Haven. The charity resonates with everyone here,” said Ms Townsend.

Dermot Crowley of Recovery Haven was present at the business on the Castlemaine Road and expressed his thanks to Aspen Grove for the generous donation.
