PEIL FAOI 12: (i) Under 12 boys will train on Tuesday and on Thursday from 5.30pm to 6.45pm i bPáirc na mBan Rialta, Connolly Park. (ii) Last week’s outings were to Laune Rangers (Teams 1 and 3) and to Abbhainn an Scail (Team 2).

PEIL FAOI 14: (i) The Under 14s will train on Sundays from 4pm to 5.30pm in Connolly Park and on Wednesdays (5.15pm to 6.45pm) on which we won’t have a game.

(ii) On Wednesday (6th) our A Team welcomed the Dr. Croke Club’s A boys to Connolly Park. A mighty outing! We won the toss and elected to play with a very strong wind. Both teams exchanged points in the first half with Cian Purcell, Adam Curran and Mervyn Shalemba getting two each.

Both teams missed chances in front of goal and our own Ben Quilter gave a fine dispaly between the sticks. We did manage to find the back of the net when Cian Purcell capitalised on a loose ball in the box and at half time we led…1-6 to 0-6. As we played into a strong breeze in the second half the omens weren’t good!

However, this didn’t faze our lads who took to the field like men possessed! Backs and forwards alike hunted in packs to win the ball and attacked well as a unit.

Ben Quilter again showed class in saving a penalty and produced great kick outs after superb runs from defenders. In front of goal we were clinical with just one wide in the second half. A lot of ‘Gooches’ on our team!

We scored a total of 5-2. Goal scorers included Leon Gallagher who scored his first goal for the club and Greg Scanlon who is back from serious injury. Other scorers were Shane Bastible, Cian Purcell and Owen Healy. The heart and determination shown by the team as a whole was simply fantastic.

Full time score:- AdeS: 6-8; Na Crócaigh: 0-12. Team: Ben Quilter, Joey Nagle, Luke Chester, Daniel Breen, Dean Rusk, Armin Heinrich, Jordan Kissane (Conor Kavanagh), Adam Curran (0-2), Owen Healy (1-1), Conor Horan, Mervyn Shalemba (0-2), Liam Tobin, Nathan Holden (Leon Gallagher (1-0)), Shane Bastible (1-1) (Greg Scanlon (1-0)), Cian Purcell (2-2). Well done, boys!

(iii) Last week, on a wet and blustery Wednesday, our Bs faced Crócaigh Chill Airne. 3 points from James Charles and a goal from Donnacha Fox, kept it close at halftime. Despite the best efforts of Kevin Barry and Ciarán Kelliher, a wind assisted Dr Croke Club team was rampant throughout the second half.

Full time score:- 6-7 to 1-6. Team: Seán Collins, Kevin Barry, Joe Reidy, Donnacha Fox, Rian Costello, Ciarán Kelliher, Evan Foley, Johnny Feely, Gavin Slattery, Dylan Hurley, Matthew Browne, James Charles, Dara Flynn, Kaplan Carter-O’Flynn. (iv) Next Wednesday the B team will travel to Ballymac and throw-in time is 7pm. N. – Players not eligible for B duty will train in Connolly Park from 5.15pm to 6.15pm.
