PEIL FAOI 6/8/10: (i) No…no…no SUNDAY morning football because of the Festival and the Kerry games in Croke Park. (ii) Best wishes to ‘Star’, Rónán, Dylan Ó Cathasaigh, Mícheál Ó Slatara and Ciarán Ó Raghallaigh in their respective All-Ireland semi-finals at Jones’ Road on Sunday. (iii) Under 6, Under 8 and Under 10 football on THURSDAY at the usual times…U6/8s at 5.45pm and U10s at 6.30pm.

PEIL FAOI 12: The Central League fixtures for our A and B teams…(i) Wednesday 9th August: (a) Ardfert B: 2-8; v AdeS B: 5-14. (b) Ardfert A: 1-10; AdeS A: 5-25. Great news for the club….dhá bhua iontacha! (ii) On Monday last (14th) our lads played v Keel; (iii) Monday next (21st): AdeS v Cnoc na hEaglaise; (iv) 28th: no game; (v) 4th September: AdeS v Laune Rangers.

DANCING: Our club dancers’ intepretation of ‘Dancing Through the Decades’ will take place in the Festival Dome on Saturday August 26th. Have you your ticket? We urge all members, supporters and friends of the club – bíodh siad óg, meánaosta nó críonna – to support this important annual fundraiser by purchasing a ticket (ceann amháin ar a laghad!). Costas: €20.

Even if you yourself cannot attend, you might be willing to offer a ticket to a family friend or neighbour! We expect this ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ presentation to be the most enjoyable ever! Brabús will, of course, go towards the continuing development of club facilities in Connolly Park. Your generous support is greatly appreciated.

CAID FAOI 13: (i) The Under 13 boys’ Town League fixture: at home v Ballymac at 7pm on this Thursday Aug 17th. (ii) The Oaklands ‘Daybreak’ Rose Cup competition will be played this weekend. Good luck to our Rock boys.

CAID FAOI 14: (i) Our As played away to the John Mitchel Club boys on Wednesday (9th) in the Town League. JM: 2-6; AdeS: 4-10. Tús maith…a good result! (ii) The As played away v the Kerins-O’Rahilly Club boys on Tuesday (15th). (iii) Our B boys played at home v Naomh Pádraig on Tuesday last (15th) in the Town League (Division 3).
CAID FAOI 16: (i) Our U16 braves drew with Na Crócaigh in the Lee Strand County League (Division 1) semi-final on Wednesday (9th) in extra time…Na Crócaigh: 4-13; Na Stacaigh: 2-19. What excitement! The replay took place on Wednesday (16th) at Connolly Park. The Legion boys have already qualified for the county final.(ii) Division 7: Our B boys played away v Cordal on Thursday. Well played, lads!

TRALEE UNDER 16 TEAM: The Tralee U16 Team has been drawn v Shannnon Rangers in the quarter final of the County (Divisional) Championship. The Rock is well represented on the panel.

BISHOP RAY BLESSES NUNS’ FIELD: We welcomed Bishop Ray Browne to our club last week to bless the Nuns’ Field. Bhí Aifreann speisialta againn. Also present were Fr Seán Hanafin, Fr Ciarán Ó Briain and Fr Niall Geaney. A great attendance at a great club occasion! And the tae and ceapairí were very welcome!!

IDIRCHONTAE: Our sympathies to Dylan Ó Cathasaigh, Donagh Mac Mathúna and Mícheál Ó Slatara who were unlucky in their U17 meeting with Roscommon. Sympathies also to the Kerry minor hurlers v Cill Dara. Comhghairdeachas le iománaithe Faoi 21 an chontae ar a mbua iontach v Tír Chonaill.
