Banna Rescue wants you to send them your Christmas swim pics to share on social media.

SO the traditional Christmas swims have been cancelled for this year, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take a dip over the festive period in a safe and socially-distanced fashion.

The good folks at Banna Rescue are lamenting the cancellation of the annual swim on the beautiful beach, but would like anyone who does decide to take to the water over the coming week to send them into their social media pages to cheer people up.

In a post on their Facebook page they state: “Due to Covid restrictions, it is not possible to host our annual Christmas day swim at Banna Strand. However, in keeping with the strong community spirit, Banna Rescue are asking people who will be dipping their toes in the water during the festive season to SEND or TAG us in their photos, so our social media pages can play host to a virtual swim.”

“For the last 37 years, the traditional Christmas day swim has been a very important community event; always a fabulous occasion and opportunity for family and friends to meet on the beach.

“We understand that some family and friends may not be able to make it home or meet up so we would also encourage photos from where ever you are around the world.  Please help spread the community spirit, by liking, sharing or posting. Photos can also be e-mailed to info@bannarescue.org” You can also tag them on facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
