REPRESENTATIVES from Castlegregory Golf Club were at Recovery Haven’s premises in Killerisk on Thursday to deliver a cheque for €1,800.

This was the proceeds of the Captain’s Charity Day at the club on Sunday, October 17, which was well supported.

“The event is held annually but it couldn’t be last year due to COVID,” said Secretary of the Club, Tommy King. “The catering was held outdoors this year and it all went well. Members paid an entry fee and people who didn’t play also gave in the donation buckets.”

Men’s Captain, Colin O’Sullivan, said it was the previous captain’s request that Recovery Haven was the chosen charity.

“Richie Greer was captain last year but with COVID we couldn’t hold his charity day, so he asked could Recovery Haven be chosen this year. Their fundraising has been hit over COVID so we were obviously delighted to help out in any way,” he said.

“We’re delighted that the Castlegregory Golf Club captain chose Recovery Haven as the charity on the day and we’re very grateful for their generosity,” said Kathleen Collins of Recovery Haven.
