TWO men who held a fundraising climb of Mount Brandon last month presented a cheque to Recovery Haven on Monday for €8,705.

John Paul O’Connor and George Bastible decided to hold the event over the May Bank Holiday Weekend to remember those who lost to cancer, those who are battling cancer at present and to recognise the work done at Recovery Haven to help people and their families going through tough times.

The lads thanked Marisa Reidy and Jacinta Bradley for their help in organising the event, Gallys Tralee who were a main sponsor and all who donated to the charity.

Marisa Reidy, PR and Marketing Officer with Recovery Haven expressed their gratitude to the lads. “On behalf of everyone at Recovery Haven Kerry, we want to say a massive thank you to everyone who was part of our May Bank Holiday weekend event.”

“When John Paul and George came to us with the idea of organising this climb as a fundraiser, we never imagined the impact it would have on us – and how many fabulous, genuine, caring people we would meet along the way. It has been the ultimate pleasure!”

“To everyone who showed up; who climbed; who fundraised; who sponsored prizes and who supported us in any way at all – we are forever in your debt.”
