Island of Geese site.
KERRY County Council proposes to carry out the development of a cover for the proposed amphitheatre at the Island of Geese site.
The proposed works consist of the installation of two tensile fabric structures — a permanent structure over the amphitheatre seating and a second structure will be a temporary stage canopy which will be used only for performances as and when required.
The permanent free-standing tensile fabric membrane structure is to be sited over the circa 130m2 seating area.

The cover will provide permanent shelter for the seated area. Decorative LED lighting is to be installed highlight the tensile fabric structure and lighting support fixtures and suspension points will be integral to the structure.
A demountable tensile fabric cover is to be located over the designated ‘stage’ area of the performance space, which measures circa 110 m2, and will be located between the seating area and the retained chimney.
This structure will be a temporary stage canopy used only for performances as and when required. The canopy will be stored off site when not in use. For more details click here
Plans and Particulars of the proposed development are available for inspection or purchase, on payment of a specified fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making such as copy, during normal office hours, at the following locations from Thursday, 16th December 2021 to Friday, 4th February 2022.
