Five Things To Do In Tralee And Beyond This Weekend

Glorious weather is on the way so there’s no excuse for not getting out and about this weekend. Here’s a few things to consider…

Saturday

1. Walkies!…

PETMANIA in Tralee are organising a fundraising dog walk on Saturday in aid of Recovery Haven.

Dog owners are invited to register for the event which takes place from 10am at the entrance to Ballyseedy woods. Registration is free but people are asked to make a donation to Recovery Haven if they can.

2. On yer bike…

THE annual Fenit Coastal Cycle returns after a COVID enforced break of two years.

Previous cycles have attracted almost 500 participants from across Munster and beyond and the cycle fundraiser for St Brendan’s NS in Fenit will  commence at 10am.

3. Test your general knowledge…

Sisters, Ciara and Sinead O’Mahony, are holding a fundraising table quiz on Saturday for Spinal Injuries Ireland as part of the Tall Ship Challenge for 2022.

It takes place at 7.30pm in The Grand Hotel Tralee. It costs €25 per table (max 5 people per table) and there’s some great spot prizes, including a night away B&B including an evening meal courtesy of The Metropole Hotel, Cork.

Sunday

4. A walk in the woods…

KERRY County Council in conjunction with Tralee Bay Wetlands Eco & Activity Park will host a guided Tree Walk to celebrate the end of National Tree Week and Mother’s Day.

This event, which begins at 10am at Ballyseedy woods, is free of charge but tickets must be reserved online as spaces are limited.

5. Support the green and gold…

The Kerry footballers are in action at home this weekend. They face Tyrone in Fitzgerald Stadium in Killarney from 1.45pm.

Although the Kingdom have already qualified for the league final, it’s still sure to be a full-blooded affair with their great rivals of the noughties.
