The Connie Fitzgerald Memorial Walk takes place on May 26.

THE annual Connie Fitzgerald Memorial Walk will once again take place on Sunday, May 26 in Currans Village marking the third year of the event.

Last year attracted a crowd of almost 350 walkers in memory of the popular and much loved man from Currans, who passed away in 2020 from cancer and it raised €4,212 for the Kerry Hospice Palliative Care Services.

The walk, organised by Connie’s family will set off at 11am from Currans Community Centre and all funds raised this year will be presented to BRÚ Columbanus, who provide home from home accommodation for families of patients in Cork hospitals.

The Fitzgerald family are very grateful to them for the support they received during Connie’s short time in CUH.

Afterwards, refreshments will be served in the Community Centre which are kindly sponsored by Lidl and Connie’s former employer PST.  The family are hopeful of a large crowd again this year for this special event.
