Great Line-Up For New Arts And Culture Festival In Tralee This July

Pa Sheehy will play during Anam in Tralee this July.

A NEW arts and cultural festival will take place in Tralee this July featuring a host of music acts and literary and theatre event.

Adam will take place July 12-14 and will see a variety of artistic acts, from writers, poets and playwrights to spoken word artists and singers.

Guests can expect a family friendly vibe with a diverse line-up of local emerging talent and established Irish artists.

Renowned singer/songwriter and former Walking On Cars frontman, Pa Sheehy, will play an intimate gig at Maddens on Milk Market Lane on Saturday, July 13.

Two excellent Kerry female artists, Lorraine Nash and Kate Dineen, will play a gig in The Rock Inn on Friday, July 12 from 8pm to 9.30pm, while singer/songwriter Ciarán Wynne will play in The Greyhound Bar from 9.30pm on the same night.

Gigging on the Saturday night will be Aftershock at The Greyhound Bar and Queenless Kings in Turners Bar.

On the theatre front, the Hy-Breasal Players present ‘Clutch’, a unique production of six short plays performed in the setting of six different cars. Tickets are limited to 18 people per show and take place at various times in Dom O’Donnell’s car park in Boherbee.

Literature events include author Noel O’Regan and poet Victoria Kennefick in conversation with Edel Brosnan on Friday, July 12 in Crosty’s Bar in The Mall.

Author Kit de Waal will be in conversation with journalist and writer Clodagh Finn on the same night in Maddens from 8pm.

Poets Corner returns to Baily’s Corner on Saturday, July 13 from 5pm to 6pm and you can head next door to Jess McCarthy’s Bar immediately after to see Books Editor of The Irish Times, Martin Doyle in conversation with writer Anne O’Neill in Jess McCarthy’s Barfrom 6pm to 7pm.

Finally on Sunday, writer and poet from Dublin, Colm Keegan and poet and scholar Liz Quirke will be in Maddens from 1pm to 2.30pm.
