‘Buster’, winner of last year’s ‘Nose Of Tralee’ contest.

AFTER last year’s success, Pet Sitters Ireland have proudly announced the second year of the Annual Nose of Tralee Pet Competition.

Organisers are looking to show off your pets hidden talents, like the Kerry entry last year, Roxy ‘the talking dog’ from Tralee, owned by Maria O’Carroll (see video below).

They are inviting the people of Kerry to enter their pets to be in with a chance to be crowned this year’s winner.

To enter the competition, pet owners must submit a photograph of their pet, along with details of why their pet would make a good Nose of Tralee. They are looking for cute, funny, talented all around gorgeous pets. No pet is too big or small to enter.

Along with a public vote, the panel of judges will be looking for pets who show real personality and have that flare that a good Nose of Tralee needs. Judges include Comedienne Tara Flynn, Author Lorna Sixsmith and Photographer David McCauley. Special Guest Judge is Buster, the 2014 Nose of Tralee.

“The 2014 Nose of Tralee was an overwhelming success and we are delighted to be back for another year of the competition. Buster has been a great Nose of Tralee and I know he is excited to meet this year’s Nose and hand over his crown!” said Kate McQuillan, Managing Director of Pet Sitters Ireland.

All entries should be submitted online via www.noseoftralee.com by June 16.

Once all entries are in then public voting will begin. The three pets with the most votes will then go forward to the judging panel. Thirty-two finalists, one representing each county in Ireland, will be announced on July 26 and will receive a commemorative sash.

Each winner must then submit a photograph of their pet wearing the sash and public voting of the 32 finalists will commence again on July 27.

The winner of the Nose of Tralee will be announced on Facebook and Twitter on August 18.

The first place winner will be crowned the 2015 Nose of Tralee and will receive a special photo session for themselves and their pet with David McAuley Photography, along with a €200 Pet Sitting Voucher.

The second place winner will receive a pet goody hamper worth €150, plus a €100 Pet Sitting Voucher.
