Hundreds Expected For Kilmoyley Tidy Towns Annual 5K / 10K Run And Walk

KILMOYLEY Tidy Towns is set to host its annual 5K / 10K road race this Sunday, June 24 at 11am.

Now in its sixth year, the event has gone from strength to strength and regularly attracts over 200 participants.

The run will follow a 5k course starting at Kilmoyley Community Centre towards School Cross, turning right to Lerrig Cross, up to Lerrig Water Tower, passing the beautiful Lerrig Lough, onto Kilmoyley Sportsfield, turning right towards Kilmoyley Church and right again for the finishing line at the Community Centre.

The 10k route will be two laps of the same course.  The event will be timed but as always there is an emphasis on fun and participation. Music and refreshments will be provided on the day.

Prizes will be awarded as usual in both the 5k and 10k to the top three male and female finishers, the first local male and female finishers and the first juvenile male and female in the 5k.

The event is open to all ages and abilities and the participation of walkers and families is greatly encouraged.

Race entry for the event is €10 for the 5K, €15 for the 10K (tee-shirt included for adults), €5 per juvenile/child.

Registration is open the night before at Kilmoyley Community Centre on Saturday 23rd at 6.30-8pm and opens again before the race on Sunday morning from 9.30 – 10.30am sharp.
