A THREE-DAY International Adventure Conference takes place in Tralee next week.
The conference will attract in the region of 60 international delegates to Tralee, many are experts in their field, all of whom are interested in tourism and adventure tourism. Failte Ireland is co-hosting an event for Wild Atlantic Tourism adventure businesses also.
This event hosted by I.T. Tralee in partnership with the Adventure Tourism Research Association (ATRA) takes place from October 19 to 21. This is the first time Tralee has hosted this type of a conference.
Delegates will be coming from all over the world to share the findings of their research projects on all sorts of topics from adventurous food to avalanches to the development of mountain biking apps.
Attendees will also be taking part in practical workshops including surfing, coasteering (jumping off cliffs into the Atlantic!), and wild cooking.
Local adventure tourism businesses are attending a training event (Contracting for Global Adventure Tourism along the WAW) which is co-hosted by Faílte Ireland.
International champion surfer Easkey Britton will give the keynote address.
